Application submission has been closed

Thank you for your interest in the Postgraduate Programs of BUET. Application for April 2021 Semester intake is now open. Please read through the steps and notes as well as the prospectus carefully before applying.

To apply for admission, an applicant must complete the online Application Form from 20.05.2021 ( 9.30 AM ) to 28.05.2021 (untill 11.59 PM).

Selection of candidates for admission into a postgraduate program is performed by respective department/ institute. The selection procedure may vary from one department to another. Candidates are advised to contact the respective department/ institute for information regarding the selection procedure.

A number of selected Masters and Ph.D. students will get a fellowship from BUET. The fellowship amount for each of these Masters students will be 30,000 BDT per month, while that of Ph.D. students will be 45,000 BDT per month. Selected foreign students will get fellowships 30,000 BDT per month. Details can be found here.

How to Apply

  • Registration
     
    1. The facility for the submission of online Application will be available through the website of BUET from 20.05.2021, 9:30 am. The deadline for the submission of online Application Form on the website is 28.05.2021, 11:59pm.
    2. An applicant can start the application process by pressing "Apply Now" on the webpage.
    3. Fill up the application by providing necessary information.
      1. After pressing "Send PIN" in the application form, a PIN will be sent to the email address you entered.
      2. Enter the PIN in the application form and press “Verify PIN”.
      3. Complete the captcha and submit the registration form.
      You will get a confirmation in your email that your registration was completed successfully. You will also get an ‘Application Serial No’ and PIN number (same as before) in the email. Please note this Application Serial and PIN for future use. In case you do not get email, please check your SPAM or JUNK folder of your email account.
  •  Payment of Application Fee
     

    A non-refundable application fee of Tk. 505/- (Five hundred five) must be paid by online methods described on the postgraduate admission section of BUET website. Please follow Payment Procedure. You may need to wait for 3 to 5 minutes for payment update.

  •  Complete and submit the application form
     
    1. Go to [http://pgadmission.buet.ac.bd/PGA/login] and login with Application Serial No and PIN.
    2. If you are currently employed then you will need a NOC from your organization. To download the NOC form, click the “NOC” button, after registration and login.
    3. To continue the application form press ‘Continue Application’. Note that you will not be able to continue the application form without payment of the application fee.
    4. An applicant must fill in the personal information (Name, Father's Name, Mother's Name, Date of Birth, Addresses, Gender, Nationality, etc), his/her academic information, his/her experience (if any), names and addresses of two referees.

      After filling in all necessary data in the online Application Form on the website, the applicant must electronically submit the Form including the following documents (Size each maximum 2 MB):
      1. S.S.C. or Equivalence ( Scanned copy of certificates + transcripts/ grade sheets/ mark sheets + testimonial/ character in a merged single PDF file).
      2. H.S.C. or Equivalence ( Scanned copy of certificates + transcripts/ grade sheets/ mark sheets + testimonial/ character in a merged single PDF file).
      3. B.Sc. or Equivalence ( Scanned copy of certificates + transcripts/ grade sheets/ mark sheets + testimonial/ character in a merged single PDF file).
      4. Letter of Consent, in prescribed form, from the employer for applicants in part-time or full-time employment.

    5. To upload your digital photograph (Maximum 50 KB Size; 120 pixel Width and 150 pixel Height), simply locate your image file by clicking the Browse button. The photograph to be submitted online should be in any of the .JPG, .JPEG, .GIF, .PNG, or .BMP formats, although .JPG format is preferred. Most digital cameras and scanners on the market today utilize this format. If you are in doubt, submit the photo and you will receive a notice if it does not meet the necessary criteria.
    6. After completion, press the “preview” button. If all the information are correct, press the “Submit” button. Note that you will not be able to edit your information once the application form is submitted. So review all the information carefully.
    7. After submitting your application successfully you can download the ‘Application PDF’. After that your application for post graduate admission is completed.

Important Notes to Applicants

  • If you experience technical difficulty when applying online, please email to pgadmission@iict.buet.ac.bd. For other questions about applying for graduate study at a department/ institute of BUET, please contact the respective department/ institute.
  • The application form for Admission into Postgraduate program of BUET will only be available online. No form will be sold from this University or elsewhere.
  • “Prospectus for Admission into Postgraduate Programs ” is also available online.
  • Applicants in service must apply through their employers for both part-time and full-time enrollments.
  • Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
  • Applications submitted by mail will not be accepted.
  • Selection of candidates for admission to a graduate program is performed by the respective department/ institute. The selection procedure may vary from one department/ institute to another. Candidates are advised to contact the respective department/ institute for information regarding the selection procedure.
  • Teaching Assistantships/ Fellowships may be awarded to suitable full-time students.
  • Degrees obtained from institutions other than BUET will be subjected to equivalence by appropriate authority of BUET before a candidate is finally selected for admission to a degree/ diploma program.
    Last date for submission of the application is 28.05.2021 (until 11:59 p.m.) and classes will commence on 24.07.2021.
  • The schedule regarding postgraduate admission may change due to COVID-19 situation. Updated information will be available on the postgraduate admission section of BUET website.
